Killer Mike is suing the security company S & S Labor Force over his citizen’s arrest at the 66th Grammy Awards last year. The Run the Jewels rapper alleges that they degraded and physically hurt him following his Grammy wins at the pre-show ceremony, while claiming the incident caused “unnecessary public embarrassment, distress and professional harm,” which led to emotional distress. The lawsuit accuses the security company of false arrest and imprisonment, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence. S & S, also known as JRM Private Security, dismissed the allegations as unfounded, asserting their commitment to ethical practices. The incident occurred as Killer Mike and his team were prevented from moving to the red-carpet area despite having the necessary credentials, resulting in physical assault and battery by the security personnel. He is seeking real and punitive damages to be decided at trial. (Rolling Stone)
