KIPR-FM/KOKY-FM Essence Festival Contest Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
1. ELIGIBILITY: The KIPR-FM/KOKY-FM Essence Festival Contest (the “Contest”), brought to you by KIPR-FM and KOKY-FM (the “Sponsors”) is governed by these Official Rules. To enter, you (“you” or “Participant”) must be 18 years of age or older and a legal resident of Arkansas at the start of the Contest Entry Period.
Persons in either of the following categories are not eligible to participate: (a) employees of KIPR-FM, KOKY-FM, McDonald’s USA, LLC, The Coca-Cola Company, Essence Music Festival (the “Promotional Participants”), and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, franchisees, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers; and (b) persons who are immediate family members (defined as spouse, IRS-dependent, or biological, foster, in-law, adoptive or step- mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, or son) or who reside in the same household as any person in the preceding category.
2. THE CONTEST ENTRY PERIOD: The Contest begins at 12:00am CST on May 27, 2014 and concludes at 11:59pm CST on June 30, 2014 (“Contest Entry Period”).
3. TO ENTER: During the Contest Entry Period, Sponsors will conduct four live events at Central Arkansas McDonald’s restaurants. One prize winner will be drawn at random at each live event, from all qualifying entries submitted at that event. Eligible participants may submit one entry per event. Participants must be present at the prize drawing to win. Locations and entry times will be announced on KIPR-FM and KOKY-FM.
Three runner-up prizes, consisting of two 3-day tickets to Essence Festival, will be awarded at the first three live events. One grand prize, consisting of two 3-day tickets to Essence Festival, hotel accommodation, and two $400 VISA gift cards, will be awarded at the final live event. Participants may only win one prize. In the event that a participant wins both a runner-up prize and the grand prize, the participant will receive the grand prize and forfeit the runner-up prize. A second drawing will be held from the remaining qualifying entries for the runner-up prize.
4. PRIZE DETAILS: A total of four prizes will be awarded during the Contest Entry Period. Three runner-up prizes will each consist of two 3-day tickets to Essence Festival, approximate retail value (“ARV”) $230. One grand prize will consist of two 3-day tickets to Essence Festival, hotel accommodations (one double-occupancy, non-smoking room) at a Sponsor-specified hotel 7/04/14–7/06/13, and two $400 VISA gift cards, ARV $1,800. Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received.
Winners must be able to attend event on dates specified, or prize will be forfeited in its entirety. Prizes cannot be assigned, transferred, or substituted, except by Sponsors, who may, at their sole discretion, substitute any prize with one of comparable value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
If any event at Essence Festival is delayed, postponed, or cancelled for any reason, Sponsors will not be liable for ticket or travel reimbursement. All travel-related expenses not set forth herein, including but not limited to, ground transportation, parking, meals, gratuities, and incidental hotel and personal expenses, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
5. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: Participants agree (a) to these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsors which are final and binding, (b) that Sponsors, their parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents will have no liability whatsoever for, are released and shall be held harmless by participants against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in this Contest or Contest-related activities and (c) except where legally prohibited, winner grants (and agrees to confirm that grant in writing) permission to Sponsors and those acting under Sponsors’ authority the right to the use of his/her name, photograph, likeness, voice, image and biographical information and statements and the Entry for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval.
6. WINNERS LIST: For the names of winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope: Essence Festival Winners List, KOKY-FM, 700 Wellington Hills Road, Little Rock, AR 72211. Winners list will be available after 7/07/2013.
