Ron Banks of The Dramatics dies at age 58

Ron Banks of The Dramatics died at age 58 from a heart attack at Sinai Hospital in Detroit.  Banks was one of the founders of the popular R&B group in the 1960s, which had hits including “Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get,” “In the Rain,” and “Get Up and Get Down.”

The Dramatics are due to perform this Saturday at New York’s Westbury Musical Festival, and L.J. Reynolds of The Dramatics says the show will go on.

Banks and Reynolds and the rest of the group at the Apollo Theater when Reynolds was 18.  The rest was history.

"We had a great ride ... and The Dramatics will go on. This is a tragedy, but we have to be strong for Ron and his family," Reynolds said, as reported by The Detroit News.
